Course Design

The Patrick Merrigan designed Woodenbridge Golf Club is a Par 71 (72 for ladies) parkland course. The beautiful Avoca & Aughrim rivers come into play on no less than 10 holes, each providing unique challenges for players of all handicaps.

Some of the finer holes include the 437 yard 6th, the stunning, but dangerous par 3s at 8 and 17 and the magnificent par 5 18th which begs the brave to flirt with danger from the tee.

Woodenbridge Golf Club was saddened at the passing of Paddy Merrigan who died on January 13th 2016 after battling a long illness.  Woodenbridge is very proud of the course that Paddy shaped and loved for many years.

Course Records

Men's Record

Our member, Jay Stafford currently holds the mens course record at an impressive 65 achieved in competition on 27th August 2022 (his PH on that day was 4).

The previous record of 66 was jointly held by two other members for many years until now, by Michael Holden and Gavin Byrne. 

Lady's Record

The ladies course record is 67 currently held by Louise Mernagh which was achieved on the 6th September 2007. This magnificant score was equalled in 2009 by Leona Maguire (now Irish Professional Golfer on the LPGA Tour).
